Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. Bell was raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), an RN as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. Her ancestry is Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish, and Scottish (father). Kristen found her talent in the entertainment industry when she was just a teenager. When she was in 1992, she went to her very first audition. She was given the role in Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell's mom signed her up with an agency just before turning 13 years old. She was then featured in TV commercials as well as newspaper advertisements. In addition, Bell started taking private acting classes. Bell played a brief, uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School and was in the band and drama clubs. She won the starring role as Dorothy at her school's production of The Wizard of Oz. After graduation Bell moved to New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts, where she was a musical theater student. Bell left college in 2001 when she was cast in the role Becky for Tom Sawyer. That same year, she was the first to be credited in Pootie Tang (2001), but her scene was cut and her appearance exists only in the credit sequence. Bell made an appearance in Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival that featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
