Awkwafina Awkwafina, an American performer and actress, started with a series of rap songs which dealt with the subject of sexual and race. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood following the release of an album of raps. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. After classical and Jazz training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. While in the school, she focused on women's studies and journalism. She studied Mandarin briefly in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention towards music. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC BitcheUSD. This song is directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. As a musician and an author on her resume she determined to pursue a third endeavor actor. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got an array of noteworthy roles including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by in Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
